Client: With Mentura (Education/Tutoring Service)
Year: 2025
Scope: Business Naming, Brand Strategy, Logo Design, Visual Identity
The Challenge:
With Mentura, a specialised tutoring and mentorship service for British expat families, had operated successfully for two years without a formal business name or brand presence. The founders had previously engaged with branding agencies but felt unheard and lacked clear direction to move forward, creating decision paralysis around naming and visual identity
My Role & Approach:
I led the complete brand strategy and naming process, focusing on removing emotional indecisiveness through a structured, strategy-first methodology:
Brand Strategy Foundation: Developed a rigorous brand positioning framework centred on their mission to bring British-standard education to global expat families, establishing strategic clarity before tackling naming decisions.
Strategic Naming Process: Guided founders through a systematic naming methodology that treated the name as a logical extension of brand strategy rather than a subjective creative exercise, ultimately landing on "With Mentura" (with = partnership, mentor = core service).
Logo Design & Visual Identity: Created a custom logomark featuring monogrammed 'W' and 'M' within an oval badge, designed to evoke the authenticity of a traditional British school crest whilst maintaining contemporary warmth and approachability.
Brand System Development: Developed a complete visual identity including colour palette (Plum and Cream), typography system, and brand guidelines that positioned the sibling founders as youthful yet authoritative experts in their field.
The Outcome:
Delivered a trademark-ready brand identity that successfully transitioned the business from informal referral-only operations to a professional, market-ready service. The strategic approach resolved months of naming indecision by anchoring decisions in business strategy rather than personal preference. This project demonstrates my ability to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics and translate abstract business positioning into tangible visual systems.
